I flew WestJet to Vancouver.
WestJet
I prefer WestJet over the obnoxious Air Crapada, as I like to call them, for many reasons. The first thing you notice with WestJet, they have sweet, young ladies (for the most part, they have the odd guy as well but …who cares!!) as flight attendants. They are bubbly, pretty and seem happy to be there. A great combination. Easy on the eyes, and easy to get along with.
On the old dinosaur airline, Air Canada…er Crapada, you often get miserable old union hags that stopped enjoying their job several decades ago. They cling to the job because they are just waiting it out for their pension. Maybe it is just my flights...everyone of them! The worst ones are the eastern, based crews from Montreal. You can add grumpy old age to a French attitude. Maybe it is just me but some of them act as though they are part of the Bloc. Note: there are many nice people in Quebec it just seems they are not the inflight crew!
It makes being stuck in a tube at 30,000+ feet more of an endurance test of patience. At least if they had any of their youthful beauty left it would make it a bit more bearable. Hey I am a guy...I am shallow that way!!
Also have you ever tried to change a flight last minute with AC? They have some ex bookie named Knuckles or Scarface make up the change fees. “What’s that? You wish to leave a day earlier and want to know if there is space available? Why yes there is, please bend over while we extract a massive fee from you.”
The real reason I love WestJet though, is how they make it fun with the jokes they tell. On landing one of the sweet young gals gets on the microphone and tells a few light hearted, but corny jokes. As the rest of the plane laughs I sit there smiling smugly, as they give me a sense of job security. I will never try to take away their difficult job of being a fight attendant from them and they, by doing their cutesy riddles and jokes have proven that I will never lose a gig to one of these fine ladies! Now bring some of those cookies!
WestJet, the best damn airline in Canada….PERIOD!
Thanks WestJet for being you!
