Doug Stanhope

I met a comic whose work I have admired for the last few years. Doug Stanhope of "The Man Show" and "Girls gone wild" fame.
A friend gave me a copy of "Something to take the edge off" by Doug Stanhope a few years back and, after listening to it once, I was a fan. The CD is edgy, a bit dirty, controversial and above all else, it is REAL! It is the gritty truthfulness of his attitude that makes it so funny.

To those sheeple types, that have let political correctness shove their head up their ass where you are blind to the real world, you may not find him funny. In fact you may find him a bit offensive as he slowly chips away the bullshit world you have come to believe as correct. If earth is really a Matrix, then Stanhope is sort of like "the red pill". Take it and see how deep the rabbit hole goes.

I had the pleasure of meeting Doug Stanhope last night at the Sydney Comedy Store. An excellent show that had me howling despite the fact there were 2 wankers that insisted on heckling. Heckling for no other reason than the fact they were prejudiced against Americans. How narrow-minded is that? Sure the USA has its faults but to blame it all on one person is bigotry to the utmost level.
Even after Doug pointed out it is just a place where his parents had sex and therefore a place where he was born, the drunken hoons continued. Luckily, the audience were a smart group and aware of the real world and the message in Doug's act. They turned on the hecklers like a rabid pitbull. It was beautiful to watch. An audience, enmass, defending the act on stage. It makes me believe there really is a God and he enjoys good stand up.

Afterward I got a chance to hang out with Doug and his lovely wife Rene. Great people and very down to earth.
If you ever see this comic's show advertised in your city, GO AND SEE HIM!! If you are smart enough to visit my website then you are among the people who will really dig his stuff.
Oh yeah, after his show, buy one of his CDs (he has 3 different albums) and /or his DVD. Great entertainment any time the world has kicked you in the mental nuts and you feel the need to fight back, even if it is just through someone else's hilarious and well aimed rage.
Keep up the great work Doug. See you back in North America soon.
