Technology. I hate it and I love it at the same time. While the internet is an awesome medium to research topics ( I hear there is porn on there too….I think...I've heard...) and keep in touch with emails, instant messaging and blogs all designed to make us more efficient and improve our productivity or so it seems. Then why do I find, some days, the whole day has slipped by and I am still at my desk in my boxers (that’s my jammies ladies….ooooo's & ahhhhhs) and morning coffee?
Sometimes I keep in daily touch with many people I would talk to maybe once a year. With email and messaging I am talking to them all the time? I don’t understand how that is.
I do like the ability to instantly communicate around the world and share info, thoughts and pics.
Like the one posted here, Rita Rudner being used as a door stop in Melbourne. Now in the old days of paper and stamps would I have bothered to send this to anyone? Share it? NO. Too expensive. Now, with the internet I can share this funny, if not slightly disrespectful pic with everyone! Maybe if Rita went back there to do shows they would put her pic up on the wall? Then again, she had the one formula joke of misdirection done over and over. After 10 minutes it seemed like 2 hours. It was even described as such on "The Family Guy".
Now where was I going with this blog entry? Oh yeah, technology is wasting our time if we don't police ourselves better.
