I don't even do the ones that say I will have bad luck or good luck if I don't send or send. I don't believe in it.
I also know that many of the guilt trip ones are started by spammers and have programs in them to collect email addresses. If you forward them you will soon receive all sorts of crap in your inbox.
This email I got today did have an important message. Rather than piss off everyone I know with another forwarded email I decided to post it here for all to view.

Only in Canada....sadly.
It is interesting that the federal government provides a single refugee with a monthly allowance of $1,890.00 and each can also get an additional $580.00 in social assistance for a total of $2,470.00!!
This compares to a single pensioner who, after contributing to the growth and development of Canada for 40 to 50 years, can only receive a monthly maximum of $1,012.00 in old age
pension and Guaranteed Income Supplement.
Maybe our pensioners should apply to be refugees!
Tell all Canadians, so we can all be ticked off
and maybe we can get the refugees cut back to $1,012.00 and the pensioners put up to $2,470.00 and enjoy some of the money we were forced to submit to the Government over the last40 or 50 years.
Inform every Canadian to expose what our elected
politicians are doing to our over taxed population.

Sad how we treat our own isn't it? Now before all you bleeding heart liberals (sheeple) snap a leg with a knee jerk reaction this is NOT an anti refugee post.(read it again after your knee stops spaz jerking ya morons!)
I am happy that many want to come here to live. We need new Canadians to help fill this big ass country. Hell my grand parents were refugees when they moved here. They did it without this big handout however and struggled and worked and survived. We are into our third generation of Canadians in my family now.
I just wonder, once Canada is reduced to a 3rd world basket case (with the way our elected officials waste, steal and spend...it is only a matter of time) will Canadians then have to flee elsewhere?
If our future generations do, will they face a similar free ride in another country? I doubt it. I know if I was a refugee I would be a bit wary of a country that gives more to new arrivals than those who helped build the place. What kind of message is that? Come here, work your ass off and we will UN-reward you in the future!!!
Only a liberal (or a LIberal) could find logic in that.
That is why I am a libertarian by nature: Less government in our lives because they screw up everything.

To Jack Hall
Thanks for your indepth explanation of the refugee process. It does not answer why Canadians who have worked and paid taxes for decades get fewer benefits than those who have just arrived and may not stay.
I also find it interesting that you would phrase your statement "normally cannot speak either French or English."
Why french first? The majority of the nation is English with only 17-23% (depending on which stats info you use) as francophone. If a refugee lands in Vancouver or Toronto their inability to speak french is a moot point unless they try to claim refugee status in Quebec where the jack booted 101 police will probably find a way to shuffle them to another province anyway.
I am assuming you are an employee of the federal government?
Again thanks for taking the time to put all that info in your comment even though it does not give pensioners any warm feelings especially the ones that may have been refugees long before the big money handouts.
Jack what my CPP contributions are (or anyone's for that matter) is truly a confidential matter. I am not about to ask for yours nor do I care. I have paid a king's ransom in taxes over the years. Both personal income and the countless hidden or add on taxes (fuel, GST, liquor etc) that all Canadians are forced to pay. If this country was run responsibly those consumption taxes would be all that is necessary to provide our nations needs but the corruption continues.
I see that you have evaded my questions about why new temporary people get treated better than those who have lived here for most of their lives or maybe all of their lives.
By the way, taxes are a rip off of the people as the current batch of criminals in Ottawa do what they please with them and not always for the good of the people.
Maybe you can give them your whole paycheque if you wish. We are the most taxed nation in the western world and there is no reason for it other than corruption and waste. We used to run the country with no personal income tax before WWI. When the Bank of Canada (and the US federal reserve) were handed over to the independant bankers of the world many years ago, we all got sold down the river. One of the reasons our bank notes no longer say "Pay to the bearer on demand" as there is no precious metals to back the value. It is a note of debt used as a fiat currency.
In my life time I have seen "tax freedom day" ( the day determined that we start to work for ourselves) go further and further down the calendar. So Jack, you government sheep, I have earned the right to complain as has everyone in this country with a self earned income has.
Now explain to all on here why you have no profile and just a fake blog ID?
Hoo boy,.. I hate to jump into a pot of boiling water with two guys who are ready to duke it out... but hey,.. I'll just pretend it is a hot tub....
ahem,.. anyway,..
Don't know where on the political spectrum I fit in,.. I like to think realistic humanitarian,.. I am far from anti-refugee that is for sure. I like to say that I am proudly Canadain,.. but when certain numbers like these ones crop up I have to hang my head. Our pensioners, who have devoted most of their working lives to this country, cannot receive enough in support to live comfortably into their old age,.. they cut corners, usually their groceries, to make ends meet. They live doing a whole new kind of work, taking care of themselves as best they can while they watch their bodies betray them.. Ask me about how hard that is,.. no, I am not 90 years old, but I am a nurse and have learned a thing or two from my patients over the years. That is something we are all going to have to face,... I pray that I face that challenge gracefully...
Now granted, these old timers have had the fantastic opportunity to live here for years, and they paid their taxes and had the chance to invest and set up for their future, an arguable point, but the majority of the working class is living from paycheck to paycheck, and after taxes and family expenses that doesn't leave a lot on your plate for investing in your Golden Years.
No one said the refugees coming to Canada should not be supported, just maybe not so highly. Or, we need to even things out so that no group is scraping so hard to make ends meet. Maybe we should prioritize and take care of who we have here already, Immigrants are welcome, there are support services in place for language and career development, multicultural centres to try to give them a sense of family. No, it isn't easy, as Jack went on and on to explain, but hey, no one promised life ever was. Lord Knows, growing old is definitely not easy.
I try to be realistic,.. we can't run around taking care of every group that comes knocking on Canada's door,.. pensioners included,.. we need to foster some independence, some self-sufficiency... we are a nation that has some high taxes remitted to government every year. I hate to tout the party line, but along with that large amount of money comes even larger amounts of responsibility, to spend in wisely, and set Canada up for success!
The fact that refugees, regardless of their education or ability to work, are making more money than our older folks, that just bothers my inner sense of fairness. And we all know that government doesn't have that inner sense.
Sometimes I wish it did.
Sometimes I wish that particular barber we call government would every once in a while, grab a piece of legislation from here, and a piece from there, and measure the two against each other,... just to be sure that he isn't cutting and trimming in an unbalanced way,.. leaving Canada with a very unprofessional and juvenile look. 'Cuz hey, if you can't take care of yourself, how are people supposed to have confidence in you that you can help take care of anyone else?
