Closed...the story of Ottawa.

Closed signs, locked doors and empty parking lots, is what I experienced on a Sunday afternoon while out with 2 other comics looking for something to eat. Let me clarify that something to eat was NOT to be from one of the big chain stores. I wanted real mom/pop operation type of food. I refuse to eat at the big chains like McCrap's, Denny's et al as their food is such processed junk as to not even be worthy of a trip out.

The worst was walking into a restaurant only to have them say,
"Sorry we just closed the kitchen."
WTF??

In a city that is supposed to be one of the fastest growing and pushing a million souls, they seemed to have forgotten to create social things to do. We tried 6 restaurants and they were either closed, about to close or, in the case of one, lined up until they were closed. We drove by many more that were obviously not into making money today, not even getting out of the car to test-rattle the locked doors. How do people live in such a boring place? Toto, we aren't in Calgary anymore Zzzzzz

Sure I have a full kitchen in my condo but on a Sunday who wants to cook? Today I had no choice.

After 2 hours of driving around and digesting holes in our ever grumbling stomachs we retreated, starving, confused and generally irritated at the dull folks of government-town and their lack of things to offer, unless you are up and out BEFORE 2pm for Sunday brunch. Whom, but a boring civil servant does that??

Hmm, no wonder the crowds are so awesome here! I think they are just happy to be out doing something in a business that is open and fun!
I have one more Ottawa show tonight and you can bet I am going to let loose on this lack of open eateries. C'mon Ottawa, what the hell are Canadians paying taxes for? Build some damn restaurants and leave the locks off the door so you have to cook food for us bored, hungry visitors!!
At least the club will be open early and they feed us, they feed us VERY well.
There...bitch fest is over.
