Wireless, the only way to go!

My new Bluetooth mouse

Today I popped into my favorite Mac dealer Westworld to check out some new gear. My kids want to upgrade their eMac for a new Dual Intel iMac. We'll see. Hell their present computer is not even a year old yet!
I was impressed with the speed of the new iMacs and the incredibly clear webcam built into the screen. It would be good for video conferencing with my sons. Hmm, may just have to splurge.

I did pick up an awesome Bluetooth mouse. I figured since my new iBook has Bluetooth capability it is time to get some Bluetooth toys. (the kids get my 1 month old USB wireless mouse I had just bought before my old iBook took its spill).

Now just so I don't geek out and lose anyone, Bluetooth is a fairly new wireless connection for many hi-tech electronics to communicate with each other. And on a Mac it is so easy to set up.

If you are looking for a fully functional mouse that is compact for travel, yet fits well in the hand, I highly recommend the BT500. Hey, if you are still chugging along on older technology, there is a USB antenae, you can buy, that will let the BT500 mouse work on older machines.

So now I have a laptop that can connect wirelessly to the internet, with a wireless mouse (never was a big fan of track pads when doing graphics and video), a cordless phone and a cell phone that works almost anywere (soon to be upgraded to a Bluetooth one to exchange contact data).

You know, it doesn't seem that long ago, we were all chained to desks with huge, slow, computers, with a big clunky mouse, phones that were anchored to a wall, cables and wires everywhere! Now we have the freedom to move about, with more computer power than ever, communicate around the world and all with NO wires!

Freedom!!...or is it just a way to take MORE work with me, everywhere I go?
Who cares, I'm loving it!
How did we do it before? What's coming next? Bring it on!!
