Canada's new Prime Minister

Canada's new Prime Minister

Yesterday Canadians went to the polls, or should I say 65% of us eliglble voters did.
Sigh, still 35% sheeple that have no interest in their future, Shame on you. Yes we did have a 5% jump from the last election but too many Canucks are so complacent that they do not realize the importance of exercising their right to vote. A right that many have died for worldwide, yet too many just go...whatever...cuz its wing night at their pub and that is all they care about. Idiots!

13 years of mismanagement by the Liberals, rocked by scandal, misuse of funds, politicians out of touch with the country finally proved enough to some of us to unseat them. Good riddance Paul Martin, you were an embarrassent and a liar.

Now I know there are some that think Steve Harper is some scary boogey man. When pressed for a reason they have none. "He just is." is all these folks can muster up. Well Steve does not scare me and the fact he only has a minority government means he must move carefully. That should appease the nay sayers.

We needed change, oh man did we need change. Now Canada's Parliment can undo some of the damage done by the Liberals, stop some of the wasteful programs (the gun registry has to go...2 billion dollar failure) the senate can have elected members and on and on.

I do hope he stacks his cabinet with westerners. It is time to show the folks out east that we western types are hard working, common sense folks that will get the job done. Do you think Alberta is so wealthy because we are dolts? Sure we have gas and oil but we rebuilt after the NEP (look it up kids....they don't teach it in schools) and have become the envy of the nation. Well, lets show them how we do things right.

You have a long road ahead Mr. Harper. A tough road with a minority government. Now show the country that you are true to your word and make things better in this great land. I look forward to the GST cut, a stronger military, lower taxes, elected senate, set election dates, free votes in Parliment, returning powers back to the provinces that the Libs tried to wrest away from them, and all the other issues you campaigned on.

Now do something no other policitian has done for a long, long time. Honor your promises!
Good luck Mr. Harper, we are all watching.
