5 coyote pups

I went for a walk today to see if i could get a glimpse of the coyote pups that dwell in the natural area park at the end of my street. I came over the rise, quietly, and was treated to an awesome suprise. Not a pup or a glimpse but 5 of them!! Originally it was rumored that there were 4 so this was a surprise.
On Sunday my kids and I managed to see 2 and I got this pic as my son watched the coyote pup. This shows you how close we can get.
Today the pups were kind enough to stay out and pose for several shots like the one on this blog.
At one point the mother called them out and took them for a short walk, teaching them their surroundings. Here is a shot as the mother takes them for a run. Notice how close they are to civilzation and yes, that is a school. I am pretty sure a school yard full of screaming kids is not what old Wily coyote is looking for in the way of easy hunting. Not with a her own pack of 5 to watch.
I guess my lazy cat neighbours better start keeping kitty inside or soon there will be 5 more hunters out there!! Either way, no more feline invasions of my yard!! YAY!
Ahhh, nature. You gotta love it!
