This is the time where Calgary really shines. The biggest outdoor show on earth, the Calgary Stampede kicked off this week!!
I love the Stampede. I have yet to see any city match the spirit and fun that these 10 days create. Over a week of shows, exhibits, free breakfasts all over town, midway rides, beer tents, rodeo events, western hospitality, beer tents, fireworks, beer tents, mini donuts, cowgirls in tight Wranglers and of course...beer tents. What's not to like?
Mother nature has been giving us some damn fine warm weather with the odd thunderstorm to clean up the mess of all those parties. I don't mind thunderstorms as they come in, do their thing and then piss off.
For the next week I am dusting off my boots, putting on my hat and heading off to yeehaw with all the other Stampede party folk.
