The final countdown has begun for my trip down under. The part I dread most is the security checkpoint. That is where some person, usually not born here and severly underpaid, gets to root through your personal belongings, wave a wand over you and basically powertrip all under the illusion that they are making things safer. On top of that we have to pay an extra fee (since 9/11) and I have yet to feel more secure.
They will not allow you to take nail clippers on board yet you can take a Bic pen. Now I ask you, in the hands of a mad man...or woman...which do you think could do more damage as a weapon?
I also dread the extra long line ups at this time of year, Christmas. They go over board because we all know, terrorists are usually agnostic caucasions from the prairies or little grannies going to see their kids !
Just wave your wand you 9 buck an hour schelp. I have an uncomfortable, upright nap to catch!
2 more sleeps and I am airborn.

Did you take that picture of airport security yourself? Because I was leaving the Calgary airport last week and I went to get a photo with the girl who was dropping me off and the security guard came rushing over and screaming at me that there were absolutely no photo's allow of the airport security area....because God forbid people see what one looks like...I might show the photo to terrorists and then they would know what exactally? which of their cousins were working that day...ok that's probably a little out of line, but seriously, if they let you take that picture yourself I'm gonna be pissed...
Hey annonymous, look at the pic again. It is old (see the clothes and the furniture?) and if you look at the guard you can tell he is NOT in Calgary. Only Americans would dress up with such a silly looking hat.
It is a pic taken from and open file source of photos,
