Blog? When!??!

Hey fans, lurkers and anyone else who stops by.
First things first. You may have noticed my site being down for a bit last week. Due to a server change, a back up file glitch, Scotty re-doing the warp drive engines and other computer lingo geek talk, the site is not all up to date. It will be all fixed up soon. In the meantime, email me for any updates you need.

Sorry, also, for the lack of blog posts lately but it has been crazy busy! Besides the usual Christmas shows I have been busy on planning many other shows coming up, another overseas trip and a slew of other exciting things. I can't give it all away or I'll ruin the surprises. (wink wink)

This past weekend took me to Edmonton for 2 great corporate shows on Friday night. Ok, one was in St. Albert but that is part of Edmonton as far as I am concerned. It was nice to hear I did not offend anyone in the audience like the last comic. Guess I am just a seasoned pro!!
:-)
Things went well and I can't wait to do that gig again or at least book another independent comic to do it for me. They loved my professionally produced CDs because at the last show some guy was hawking home burnt ghetto style ones. Can you believe that?! After offending people? I love most comics but some are just toxic to the business.

Saturday I was in Calgary for an awesome gig and then out to Kanaskis country for another corporate event on Sunday. What a great hotel up there! I got to check in the night before and enjoy the mountains all day before the show which started off early, thankfully, I was able to get back to Calgary to hang with some comic friends. It is great when things work out like that.
Tonight was spent with some good buddies and some great Alberta beef! Mmmm BBQ steaks and some fine scotch after. That is the way to spend time with good friends. To top it off, mother nature is smiling on Alberta with some fine warm weather.

Phew! Monday is full of meetings, an audition (wish me luck) and one more corporate show. I almost wished the Christmas season was over so I can catch up on my rest. Almost. As crazy as my schedule is I really enjoy the ability to work with several agents/promoters as well as do my own bookings,PR and producing my own shows. There is more direct feedback from clients, fans and a greater opportunity to get my name out there. Yes, it is better to promote and be promoted rather than being just number in a mill.

This week I will try to get a another blog entry up. You never know who is reading.
Stay out of the herd!!
Daryl
